Services Officers
Thank you for contacting us. Unfortunately MOPH no longer has a service officer program. The service officer program was terminated due to budget constraints. For our members that need a service officer here are several organizations that we recommend in the Tucson area. You only need to be a veteran and do not need to be a member of their organization.

Donations
Funds donated to the Military Order of the Purple Heart are used to provide aid and comfort to veterans who are in need of assistance. The Organization also helps the families of veterans if they are in need. Veterans do not need to be members of the Military Order of the Purple Heart or recipients of the Purple Heart to be helped. Chapter 442 is a tax-exempt, non-profit veterans group operating as a 501(C)19 organization. Chapter 442 owns no real estate.
Its officers and members work from their homes and serve without pay or financial incentive. One hundred percent of all contributed money is applied to further the work described above. The chapter does not engage in mass-mailings or phone solicitation, and does not employ professional fund-raisers. Instead, we rely upon the good will of those who know of and support our worthy programs; primarily through “Donations” from among the membership, from outside individuals and from corporate donors. Donations to MOPH Chapter 442 fully qualify as charitable contributions under the federal tax code and IRS rules.
We assist any veteran in need.

Purple Heart Memorial Day Ceremony
Due to COVID restrictions and the pandemic we have not held this ceremony in several years. If we can obtain the necessary resources and support we may consider holding the Memorial Day Ceremony at Purple Heart Park in future years. The City of Tucson helped produced this video about Memorial Day at Purple Heart Park. Chapter Commander Mike-Rosie Dyer & Patriot Frank Giroux are interviewed for the video.
Our Annual Memorial Day Ceremony at Purple Heart Park is held at 10:00 a.m. at Purple Heart Park on Memorial Day. A special thanks goes to the 162nd Tactical Fighter Wing, the University of Arizona “Pride” Alumni Band, the City of Tucson Department of Parks & Recreation, the local Boy Scouts & Girl Scouts Troops, & the Rita Ranch Neighborhood Association for their support in assisting with the ceremony.

Golf Classic
The “Military Order of the Purple Heart” Golf Classic
Due to the pandemic we have not held the Classic since 2020. We may hold it again in the future if we can gather the resources and needed support.

The Empower Coalition has been the title sponsor for several “Purple Heart Golf” Classics. A special thank you to the Empower Coalition.
The “Military Order of the Purple Heart” Golf Classic is a Fund-Raising Golf Event hosted by the Fort Lowell Chapter 442 of the Military Order of the Purple Heart & the Omni Tucson National Golf Course . Proceeds benefit MOPH Chapter 442’s support of veterans in the Tucson & Southern Arizona communities. The 2019 “Military Order of the Purple Heart” Classic raised $80,000.00 of which the chapter has donated the majority of the proceeds to programs that assist with Traumatic Brain Injuries, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, bodily trauma, homeless veterans, and emergency assistance to Veterans and their families. The remaining monies will be used to support veterans and veterans issues throughout the year.
Thank you to Omin Tucson National Resort, our host course & facility for several “Purple Heart Golf” classics: 2727 W Club Dr, Tucson, AZ 85742. Omni Tucson National is one of the best 75 courses in North America.
