Military Order of the Purple Herat
We appreciate our members who have decided to serve as chapter officers for this year. Chapter Elections are held at the March meeting each year. The officers serve a one year term. The next election will be at the March 16, 2026 meeting. If you would like to serve let us know.
Cody Phipps
Commander Cody Phipps is a Global War on Terror veteran having served in Afghanistan. Cody served in the Army and received a Purple Heart.
Dave Bertagnoli
Senior Vice-Commander Dave Bertagnoli is a Vietnam Veteran. He served in the 1st Marine Regiment and received a Purple Heart for his wounds. Dave has previously served as the chapter commander.
Mike Dyer
Junior Vice-Commander Mike Dyer is a Vietnam veteran. Mike served with the 9th Infantry Division in Vietnam and has 3 Purple Hearts. Mike has previously served as the chapter commander.
Jim Zimmerman
Finance Officer Jim Zimmerman is a Vietnam veteran. Jim served with the 3rd Squadron, 4th Cavalry and has one Purple Heart.
Roger Gilbert
Sergeant-at-Arms Roger Gilbert is a Vietnam veteran. Roger served in the 1st Marine Regiment and received a Purple Heart for his wounds.
John Grand
Trustee Year 1 John Grand is a Vietnam veteran. John served two tours in Vietnam with the 9th Infantry Division. His awards include the Silver Star, 2 Bronze Stars, & a Purple Heart
John Moore
Adjutant John Moore is a Vietnam veteran. John served with the 3rd Squadron 4th Cavalry and awards include the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star, 3 Purple Hearts & a Presidential Unit Citation.
Danny Lemon
Chaplain Danny Lemon, an associate member, is an Army veteran of 1-44 Air Defense Artillery and the son of WWII Purple Heart recipient Ogle T. Lemon, E company, 28th Marines, wounded on Iwo Jima.
